🍄 Lion’s Mane Mushroom Steak
Meaty, tender, and seared to perfection

đź§‚ Ingredients:
- 2 large Lion’s Mane mushroom caps (whole, cleaned and trimmed)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- Sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon plant-based butter (optional, for finishing)
🔪 Instructions:
- Clean the mushrooms: Gently brush off any dirt. Do not rinse with water.
- Press the mushrooms: Use towels and a heavy pan to flatten slightly and remove moisture.
- Marinate (optional): Mix oil, soy sauce, vinegar, herbs, and garlic. Brush over mushrooms and let sit 10–30 mins.
- Heat the pan: Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil.
- Sear: Place mushrooms in the pan, press down, and cook 3–4 mins per side until golden.
- Butter finish: Add plant butter and herbs in the final 30 seconds. Spoon over mushrooms.
- Rest & slice: Let sit 2 mins, then serve whole or sliced.

- With mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed greens
- As a “steak sandwich” with caramelized onions
- Over wild rice with mushroom gravy
